WELLBEING Test MyDNAPedia

£89.00

This product is testing sleeping rhythm and activity, risk for osteoporosis, risk for melanoma and much more.

WELLBEING Test MyDNAPedia is a saliva test, and you will have to collect a saliva sample with special collection swabs, included in the package.

This product is testing:

  • Folate metabolism. Folate (vitamin B9 deficiency) is a condition caused by the lack of folic acid in the body. Folic acid, also known as folate or vitamin B9, is a water-soluble vitamin found in food. It is one of 8 vitamins of group B. Folate is required to synthesize and repair nucleic acids – DNA and RNA. Folic acid plays a key role in the production of red blood cells (RBCs) and therefore the most spread result of vitamin B9 deficiency is folic acid deficiency anemia (the condition when the count of RBCs is reduced). The current recommended daily intake of folic acid is 400 micrograms per day.
  • Risk for low vitamin D level. Vitamin D deficiency may be secondary to multiple etiologies including decreased dietary intake or absorption, reduced exposure to the sun, increased hepatic catabolism, decreased endogenous synthesis, and end-organ resistance. Vitamin D deficiency has also been linked to the pathogenesis of osteoporosis and hip fractures as well as other skeletal and non-skeletal disorders. Certain diseases of the digestive system can cause the malabsorption of vitamin D from food in the intestines. These include Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, and cystic fibrosis. To clarify if you have any of the mentioned deficiencies, you could try our Wellbeing test.
  • Risk for osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a reduction in the quantity of bone or atrophy of skeletal tissue; an age-related disorder characterized by decreased bone mass and increased susceptibility to fractures. Osteoporosis occurs when there is an imbalance between new bone formation and old bone resorption. The body may fail to form enough new bone, or too much old bone may be reabsorbed, or both. Two essential minerals for normal bone formation are calcium and phosphate. Throughout youth, the body uses these minerals to produce bones. Calcium is essential for the proper functioning of the heart, brain, and other organs. To keep those critical organs functioning, the body reabsorbs calcium that is stored in the bones to maintain blood calcium levels. If calcium intake is not sufficient or if the body does not absorb enough calcium from the diet, bone production and bone tissue may suffer.
  • Risk for melanoma. Melanoma is the most dangerous type of skin cancer. It is the leading cause of death from skin disease. It involves cells called melanocytes, which produce a skin pigment called melanin, which is responsible for skin and hair color. Experts believe that many cases of melanoma are caused by excessive exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun. UV rays damage DNA, the genetic material that makes up genes. Genes control the growth and health of skin cells. If the genetic damage is severe, a normal skin cell may begin to grow in the uncontrolled, disorderly way of cancer cells.
Osteoporosis and melanoma are serious conditions that require immediate intervention so test your risk of these diseases using the Wellbeing Test MyDNAPedia .
  • Risk for basal cell carcinoma. Basal cell carcinoma is a slow-growing, invasive, but usually, non-metastasizing neoplasm recapitulating normal basal cells of the epidermis or hair follicles, most commonly arising in sun-damaged skin of the elderly and fair-skinned. It is the most common of all cancers.
  • APOE (Alzheimer’s disease and heart disease). Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia, a serious brain disorder that impacts daily living through memory loss and cognitive changes. Alzheimer’s disease is a degenerative disease, progressing from mild forgetfulness to widespread neurological impairment and ultimately death. Chemical and structural changes in the brain gradually destroy the ability to create, remember, learn, reason, and relate to others. As critical cells die, drastic personality loss occurs and body systems fail.
  • Cardiovascular diseases are various disorders that affect the circulatory system. Cardiovascular diseases take 1st place among the causes of death worldwide, accounting for approximately 30% of deaths annually. Coronary artery disease and stroke are the most common life-threatening conditions.
  • Hippocampus size. There is a reliable relationship between the hippocampus and memory performance size so that where there is age-related shrinkage, memory performance will be impaired. There is also evidence that people who have experienced severe, long-lasting traumatic stress show atrophy of the hippocampus more than of other parts of the brain.
You could easily avoid those conditions by adapting your diet, healthy habits, and physical activity following the results of the Wellbeing Test.
  • Cognitive operations. Cognitive operation is the performance of some composite cognitive activity, an operation that affects mental contents – the process of thinking, the cognitive operation of remembering, etc.
  • Sleeping rhythm and activity. Sleeping, or circadian, rhythms (derived from Latin “around the day”)  are also known as the body’s biological clock (“internal body clock”) that regulates every day 24-hours cycle activity of the person and body processes (body temperature control, hormone levels in the blood, etc.). Circadian rhythms also control the ability of the person to remain awake during the day and help to fall asleep at night. Circadian rhythms are also influenced by the regime of the person, working hours, and schedule.
